Curtis Groves

Curtis Groves currently serves First State Bank as Executive Vice President & Manager of the Wealth Management & Trust Department. A native Texan, Curtis brings more than 35 years of combined experience in law and financial services.

Curtis graduated from Texas A&M University in College Station in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and earned a Juris Doctor from the SMU Dedman School of Law in 1991.

For the past 25 years, Curtis has worked in wealth management, helping clients navigate complex financial, estate, and trust matters. Curtis joined First State Bank in 2021 and continues to lead the Wealth Management and Trust Department with a commitment to personal service and fiduciary excellence.  Curtis has a background in estate planning law and has maintained his Texas law license; he is Board Certified in Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

An active leader in the field and local community, Curtis is a past Chair of the Texas Bankers Association’s Wealth Management & Trust Administrative Council and currently serves as a Board Member of the Gainesville Hospital District.
