 Meet: Lawrence Davis

We’re excited to introduce another one of our Sherman Business Development Board members! In our previous blog, we introduced Drue Bynum, who you can read about here. This week, we’re highlighting Lawrence Davis, general counsel and owner of Grayson Petroleum Company.

Lawrence moved to Grayson County in 1995 and has been heavily involved in the community ever since. With his dedication to his church and experience serving on the City Council and the Planning and Zoning Board as a member and chairman, our team at First State Bank knew he’d make a great fit for our Business Development Board.

Community is such an important value to our company, and we believe Lawrence will help us best serve our neighbors in Sherman. To him, community is everything. It’s a place to call home. It gives us a sense of place and purpose.

“Living in a safe, moral and ethical community provides the best opportunity to pursue our goals and dreams,” Lawrence said.

With this in mind, he is eager to help First State bank attract and cultivate new businesses in the area.

“I think that my experience in running a successful business and involvement in the community will support my role on the Business Development Board.” Lawrence said.

The entire North Texas area is seeing major growth, which means more business opportunities in virtually every community.

“With an increased need for housing, goods and services, banks are an indispensable part of this growth,” Lawrence said. “New residents and businesses
